Poland’s president to meet with Trump at White House in June

Krzysztof Szczerski, who heads the president’s office, stated the meeting would be following the June 5-6 Three Minute Initiative summit in Slovenia of regional leaders although the dates of the visit would be announced in coming days in Washington.

Szczerski said the discussions in Washington would focus on energy, transportation, telecommunications and financial issues, in addition to increasing U.S. military and business existence in Poland.

Duda said recently he consistently matches with Trump”very eagerly and with excellent pleasure” and such meetings are a good opportunity to discuss matters of excellent importance to Poland. This past month, Talking on TVN24, Duda stressed that bilateral ties are extremely excellent.

Poland has been lobbying for the U.S. army to increase its presence on soil, fearing Russia’s rising military presence, also is awaiting a determination on this.

Duda has also invited Trump to Warsaw to attend to the Sept. 1 observances of their 80th anniversary of the beginning of World War II.

Trump was in Poland in 2017.

This story was corrected to show the 3 Seas Initiative summit is occurring in Poland, not in Slovenia.
